Feeling welcome! Hilton Rocks
I have been traveling for years. I have stayed at all kinds of resorts, hotels, motels and even a couple of motor lodges. Tonight I am staying at a Hilton in Los Angeles. I am (temporarily) a Gold in HiltonHonors. I got this great email from one of their managers at the hotel, before my trip, welcoming me. Now, I am not even going to be able to use any of the free perks he is talking about. But, do I feel welcome.
Good Morning, Mr UnRoadWarrior:
Thank you for choosing the Hilton Los Angeles Airport.
We are looking forward to welcoming you back to the Hilton family of hotels.
As a valued Hilton Honors VIP, we would like to ensure that your stay with us is memorable.
Your scheduled arrival date is Aug 11th for 1night. You are confirmed for Double bed room and should there be availability on your day of arrival, we would be delighted to upgrade you to the next room tier.
Also, I would like to break the news about the new fitness and recreational amenities for our guests: We are offering a P90X class every Wednesday at 6:00pm. Classes are complimentary and are located on the Lower Lobby level. There is no need to pre-sign up, just arrive fifteen minutes before the scheduled start to check-in.
In addition, we have partnered with The Lakes at El Segundo, a local golf course close to the hotel, that will offer a complimentary medium bucket of balls for the driving range to our guests. Just show your key card and they will set you up with complimentary clubs as well. They are also offering a special $10 rate for their 9-hole course. A cab ride would cost about $10 dollars each way.
In this regard, please allow me the pleasure of introducing myself to you as a point of contact at the hotel. If there is anything that I can assist with during your stay with us, please contact me directly. I can be reached at xxxxxx@hilton.com or by phone at 310-410-4000 ext2300. I would certainly be most pleased to hear from you.
Once again, we appreciate your continued business and look forward to welcoming you back.
At your service,

Who ever that manager person is, he (or his authoring assistant) is not a native speaker of English. After years of rather sad experiences with the Hilton brand, one can do a lot better on price, basic rooms and services – even at ‘airport hotels’ than the Hilton brand. If Motel-6 is your thing for a road trip, you’ll love Hilton for a flying trip. -C.
Wow, I’ve stayed at the Hilton LAX a dozen times and never got the advance email… pretty cool pre-welcome. (I’m Gold, too).
Hi,
You should remove the mailto link the email you quoted in your post, as when you hover over it you see the name of the person who emailed you. 🙂
Did it. Thanks for the catch.
