Sweet deal to visit China: 7 nights for $900 or less (airfare, hotel, meals included)

an aerial view of an airportLivingsocial is running a good deal to visit China. LINK

For $899, you get the following:

  • Round-Trip Airfare to Beijing (PEK) via Air China
  • Five-Night Stay for Two at Beijing Four Points by Sheraton (Single Occupancy Add $280)
  • English-Speaking Tour Guide Service
  • Air-Conditioned Sightseeing Bus and Driver Service
  • Five Buffet Breakfasts
  • Three Lunches and Dinners
  • Entrance Fees to Included Sightseeing Spots
  • Up to $30,000 in Accidental Insurance Per Traveler

Dates: November 13 to 19, November 20 to 26, November 27 to December 3, and November 29 to December 5

With the airfare and hotels included, this seems like a sweet deal to me. The airfare itself is quite costly in this period. If the AirChina flight earns miles and Sheraton earns stay/night credit, this would be just awesome.

Living Social normally gives you your deal free if 3 other people buy using your referral link. So if 4 people jump on it together, it might cost each of them just ($900*3/4)=$675! I would have jumped on this if I could get a week’s holiday from my school. But I hope some of you can take advantage of this

A few points to note:

1.     China Visa is $140.

2.     The $900 price is for departures from Los Angeles (LAX) only.

3.     The weather in this period will be quite cold.

4.     If you want to go in January, Travelzoo has a similar deal for $800. LINK

  1. Don’t expect anything more than 50% of miles flown with Air China as they never give full mileage to anything less than a Y fare. Also bring a book and something to eat with you as Air China’s inflight catering and IFE are atrocious!

You also won’t earn any SPG points as this is a discount rate through a third party. Oh, and the Four Points is located in the middle of nowhere!
