(Almost) Instant Gold Status with Hilton
Hilton is offering Visa Signature Card holders instant Gold status until Aug 31. However if you stay thrice within that period, and pay for it with your Visa Signature, you get Gold Status until March 2013. This is seriously good deal, though it’s not a once in a life time offer. Nevertheless, Hilton Gold is normally attained by 16 stays or 36 nights and this offer gives you Gold status for more than a year with only 3 stays!
To get this offer, go to www.hhonors.com/visasignature. Enter your card number and voila! I consider Gold on Hilton to be worthwhile since it comes with a lot of amenities including upgrades, free internet and breakfast. Cheap Hampton Inns typically range from $60-80 per night. So, even if you are mattress running, you are looking at an investment for $180-$240 excluding the points and bonuses you can earn from these stays. If you are looking at 5 or more stays in Hilton properties before March 2013, this is a worthwhile investment.

Thanks. Worked as described and new status is instantaneous.
For the avoidance of doubt, the BA Chase Visa IS a “Signature” card. If you signed up for that card with the recent promo (or at any other time) and still have it, you are eligible.
The CapitalOne Venture card is also a Visa Signature card, in case someone got it thru the 100,000 miles match promo.
The Chase Sapphire Preferred card or BOA/FIA Merrill+ cards are also Visa signature.
It worked just as described. I was silver and probably would have made it to gold by the end of the year, but this is still nice. Now I just need to make sure I get 3 stays in before the end of the summer, not as many business stays so might have to do a few fun personal stays.
