Reminder: Continental Mileathon deadline is April 30
Continental Airlines’ annual Mileathon promotion is coming to an end. In this promotion, credits are awarded for various activities like booking flights, car rentals and hotels; buying flowers etc.. 175 credits during the promotion period of February 1 to April 30 earn a bonus 100K OnePass miles. Apart from that, there are prizes for those of you who get the highest credits in various categories.
The reason I posted the reminder today is because of the cheap Mileathon credit opportunities that abound right now. You can earn 25 miles/$ for purchases at 1-800-flowers.com and FTD.com. Continental Mastercard holders can earn double miles or 50miles/$.
This presents an opportunity to buy miles at ~2cents/mile or even less for Mastercard holders. This is lucrative for those of you who are shy of the next Mileathon credit level by a few credits. Every floral purchase earns 3 credits up to a maximum of 15 credits.
The worst part about ordering from FTD or 1-800-flowers is the huge shipping fees that they tack on. The lowest is $13, available only on certain weekdays. For example, until April 30, only two days (April 26 and 27) qualify for the $13 shipping fee. So, hurry if you want cheap mileathon credits! For some ideas cheap purchases, follow this LINK.
